Carl is head of the global advisory firm Chartwell Partners, publisher of Investing Around the World with ETFs and founder of ETFfolios.com which helps financial professionals build global portfolios for their clients.
 
Carl began his 20 year career in global investing with BancBoston in London and then opened up Asia-Pacific markets as a Vice President with the investment bank Robert W. Baird & Company. He was a consultant to the U.S. Treasury on Asian investment issues and an international economist with the U.S. Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Carl also represented the United States on the Executive Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank in Manila and was a member of the Pacific Economic Council of the United States.

He is the author of “The New Global Investor”, “ETF Investing Around the World”, and writes the “Global Gambits” column for Forbes. Carl received a M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy and studied at Sophia University and Keio University in Japan. Carl also studied at Harvard University’s Asian Center was  a research assistant at its Center for International Affairs.
